GameLoc Academy (GLAC) is a professional training hub dedicated entirely to video game localization as a cultural, linguistic, and industrial discipline. Born from years of hands-on experience in games journalism, education, publishing, and international localization workflows, GLAC was created to answer a very precise need: training professionals who truly understand games, languages, and cultures as one single ecosystem. We do not train translators who happen to work on games. We train game localization specialists.
Video games are not just products.
They are interactive worlds, narrative systems, emotional experiences, and cultural artifacts.
Localizing a game means:
At GameLoc Academy, localization is taught as a creative, technical, and cultural process, deeply connected to game design, narrative design, UI/UX, and production pipelines.
A School Designed for the Industry
GLAC is not an academic exercise.
It is a production-oriented training environment designed in dialogue with the real needs of the video game industry.
Our program mirrors professional pipelines and tools used by:
Students work on realistic materials, real constraints, and real workflows, learning how localization actually happens in professional contexts.
What Makes GameLoc Academy Different
We teach localization starting from the game itself, not from generic translation theory.
From narrative and UI localization to terminology management, accessibility, LQA, and cultural adaptation.
Students are trained to work within teams, follow briefs, respect pipelines, and communicate with developers and producers.
Localization is treated as cultural mediation, not mechanical conversion.
GLAC speaks the language of studios, agencies, and international partners.
GameLoc Academy is an elite training program built on experience, continuity, and results.
Since 2021, GLAC has been training a selected number of students through an intensive, highly specialized path dedicated exclusively to video game localization.
Over this period, the program has contributed to the professional development of more than 300 localization specialists, many of whom are now actively working within the games industry.
This is not mass education.
It is a focused, curated learning environment designed to cultivate quality, responsibility, and long-term professional growth.
Our approach favors depth over volume, competence over speed, and cultural awareness over automation.
GameLoc Academy actively positions itself as a talent incubator and knowledge partner for the international games industry.
We are open to collaborations with:
Our students represent emerging talent trained with a clear understanding of professional standards, responsibilities, and expectations.
Partnering with GLAC means engaging with:
We believe that better localization leads to better games, better player experiences, and stronger global communities.
Partnering with GameLoc Academy is designed to be simple, flexible, and mutually valuable, without obligations or rigid frameworks.
Our partnerships are built around three core pillars:
Industry partners are featured on the GameLoc Academy website through the inclusion of their official logo in our Partners section.
If desired, this can be structured as a reciprocal partnership, with logo exchange or cross-visibility on both platforms.
This visibility positions partners as active contributors to education, cultural responsibility, and professional growth within the video game localization ecosystem.
Partners may choose to actively participate in the course by:
– Delivering paid lectures or workshops
– Sharing real-world expertise, case studies, and production insights
– Engaging directly with students in a professional, industry-oriented context
This involvement is entirely optional and modular, allowing partners to contribute according to their availability and interests.
As part of the partnership, companies may request to receive the CVs of GameLoc Academy graduates.
This does not imply any obligation to:
– Offer internships
– Provide placements
– Hire students
It is simply an opportunity to stay in contact with trained, industry-ready profiles who already understand professional workflows, terminology, and production realities.
GameLoc Academy does not operate as a recruitment agency, nor do we impose hiring expectations on our partners.
Our goal is to create a trusted bridge between education and industry, where:
– Companies gain early visibility on emerging talent
– Students gain realistic insight into professional environments
– Knowledge flows openly, without pressure or obligation
This approach ensures long-term, sustainable collaborations rooted in quality, transparency, and mutual respect.
